Wanting to move home and looking for the perfect abode? We can help you with that and take the hassle out of trawling websites for hours and hours. Our Castles team have years of experience in North and East London, as well as Essex, and would be delighted to make recommendations.
Here are a few key steps in finding and securing your new home:
What can you afford? – Take the time to review your current financial circumstances and make sure you are confident you can cover your monthly rental payments. Review the council tax prices in your local area so you know you’ve got this covered as well.
Where do you want to live - Talk to our estate agents about which areas have the highest level of tenant demand and which hidden gems are available that you might not know about. We love showing off properties in our neighbourhood.
Register on the Castles website – by registering on our website [insert registration details page] you can receive immediate notifications when a new property in your desired area becomes available. Once registered, one of our friendly team will be in touch to talk you through the finer details and arrange viewings.
Viewings and more viewings – Once you’ve created a list of property attributes for your ideal home, you can easily select your favourites on our website by using the Save to Favourite button under the images on each individual property page. Simply get in contact and we can arrange viewings for you to see these favourites.
How will you get about – we can let you know about the nearest transport links, the parking restrictions in the area, and if there is good storage for pushbikes and the likes at the properties you have shortlisted.
Do you have contents insurance – we can provide you with an Inventory List for all of the items in your property, but we also recommend you look at contents insurance options to make sure your things are safe. Landlords do not cover this in rental properties.
Check your tenancy agreement – once you’ve found the perfect home and we have agreed in principle on the monthly rental, then you’ll be sent a tenancy agreement to review. Make sure you read this in detail so you know exactly which rules apply. And once both parties have signed this, keep this in a safe place to refer back to later.
You will also need to pay your deposit and first month’s rent in advance. We will show you how to do this, and will keep your deposit safe in accordance with TDS.
